Renewing our Focus

This Holiday Season our church is Renewing. Renewing our focus, renewing our spirits, renewing our faith, renewing our Mission. We are challenging ourselves to focus on what truely matters...Salvation, Hope, Faith, Love...God. How can we show God to those around us? What is our purpose? How can we, you, me make a difference in our home, community, work, school, nation?

From now until Thanksgiving, we are asking ourselves, what are we thankful for? Each day we will share what we are thankful for that day. We want to share this with you in hopes that it will help to spark a sense of thankfulness for what you have been given. In today's American culture, we get stuck in the getting, having, needing, wanting. We have way more than we could ever need, and in our home...want. When we ask our boys what they want for Christmas they are at a loss for what to answer. There isn't one thing that they need. There isn't really any one thing that they want or have to have. So we are readjusting our focus this Holiday Season. We are thinking of ways that we can give to those who don't have what they want and in most cases what they need. Our church has given us several opportunities to give back. To bless others. We will journal our journey. We will share what we are each thankful for. We pray that this will spur something in you to do the same. What can you really lose from doing the same? Some of your time? A little money? Maybe some extra clothes in your closet that you don't wear or even fit in? Make a family experience. Teach your kids how to serve and give to others.

If you would like to read what our church is doing or get some great ideas to serve others, check out our church website. You can even listen to our Pastor's Messages each week to hear how he has challenged us for the week.

We Challenge you to Challenge yourselves! And we'd love to hear the ways that you have blessed others this Holiday Season.
Today we are thankful for:
David: That we are able to got to church and have a family breakfast out.
Connor: My family
Nicholas: For Christmas, because I love it!
Kelly: That we were able to play a game as a family tonight.
Joel: That we were able to make blankets for young new mothers and their babies at church.

  1. Msg from Liam: He is thankful he was able to help make and put the blankets together for the new moms and their babies. He kept a piece of the fabric and put it on top of his bookshelf. :-)
