It's been one of those days for me. You know when you ask that one tiny little question that can sometimes have a big answer or not one at all?
WHY???
You know when the kids are impatient and not listening (or maybe it's me). One spent on the phone trying to figure out why my credit card won't go through for my school book order when I know there is more than enough money in the bank to cover it. When the computer is running super slow when you have lots to do. When the new washing machine decides to make funny sounds.
You know...one of those.
So instead of saying "beats me","I have no idea" or "the stars just aren't aligned right",
...retreat to this verse. One I got to sit and talk with David about just the other day.
Count it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance MUST finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, NOT LACKING ANYTHING. James 1:2-4
And in my devotions today I was reading in 2 Peter 3. Here Peter is talking about being watchful for those that can lead us astray. Now I'm not saying that's what my kids are doing. Not in the slightest! However, Satan does try whatever he can to distract us from what we ARE supposed to be doing.
"...Be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men (and I add Satan's musings) and fall from your secure position. But GROW in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:17-18
"Make EVERY effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him" 2 Peter 3:14
That is my hearts desire, to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him. What a precious task we have set before us. I pray that you too will find this to be your hearts desire and that with His Grace you will continue on and be joyful when you face many trials. Persevere Dear One...Persevere.
